Recipes

Well b0g, I take pride in what I cook and generally get great reviews for whatever I cook so I though I would share some easy recipes with you lot - I doubt many of you are into this sort of thing, but that doesnt mean you can't eat tasty food. These are about as easy as it gets (beyond baked beans on toast).

Fast Tuna Pasta

Large handfull of spagetti or penne
1 clove of garlic, crushed
Approx 2 tbsp of fresh chopped parsley
Juice of half a lemon
About 30 ml of olive oil
Cracked Black Pepper
95g can of tuna in brine or oil (drained)
Parmesan cheese

Cook spaghetti. While spaghetti is cooking combine crushed garlic, parsley,
lemon juice, oil, and pepper in a pasta bowl and mix thoroughly.
Add drained tuna and mix well. When pasta is cooked, mix the tuna sauce
through it and add plenty of parmasen.

Serves 1

Dalai's Hangover Cure

2 rashers of bacon, chopped
1 tbsp olive oil
1/2 small onion, roughly chopped
2 cloves of garlic, crushed and chopped
1 tin crushed tomatoes
1 tin borlotti or canellini beans (drained)
Freshly cracked pepper
1-2 tsp worcestershire sauce
Crusty bread for serving
Grated tasty cheese

In a large saucepan, fry chopped bacon in olive oil over a medium heat for
about 5 minutes, or untill it begins to change colour. Add chopped oniuon
and

garlic and cook for about 3 mins.
Add tomatoes, beans, worcestershire sauce and cracked pepper. Stir through
and simmer with lid on saucepan for about 20 mins, stiring occasionally,
then turn

heat off and leave saucepan untouched for another 10 minutes.
Pour bean mixture over buttered, thick, toasted crusty bread and top with
grated cheese.

Serves 2

This last one I made up myself when I realised i didnt have all the
ingredients for something else I was going to cook at pone point: very
tasty - cook it for a female you are trying to impress, it tastes
fantastic.

[skorpion]'s fragrant thai stir-fry

600-700 grams of chicken diced
2 cloves of garlic, crushed and chopped.
250 grams of green beans washed and choped in half
110 grams of fresh baby corn cut lengthways and in half
Good amount of soy sauce - you guess
Good amount of chilli sauce: its hot - you adjust to your tastes
Lots of grated ginger
Lots of lemongrass (finely chopped or in australia you can get it already
chopped up in a tube)
Sesame oil - i didnt have much left in the bottle - a teaspoon or so so I
dont know if it had much of an effect on the taste
Peanut oil

Heat the peanut oil and soften the crushed garlic for 1-2 minutes
Add chicken to the pan and cook untill starting to brown
Add all the seasonings and stir fry, moving constantly.
Blanch the beans (put in boiling water for 1-2 mins then drain and rinse
with cold water to stop the cooking process)
When the seasonings have thickened a bit add the beans and baby corn
Cook for another 2-3 mins

All these recipes dont take much work to prepare - the tuna pasta takes
only as long as it takes your pasta to cook (just dont go to any business
meetings after it - garlic breath).

Yup tis. Though I reccomend the penne rather than the spag - it holds the tuna a bit better.

Nope - one piece of bacon. Depends on where you are though - in australia one piece of bacon includes the round - in america it doesn't.

the lack of the round is the difference between proper back bacon and steaky. yanks alway seem to have streaky bacon as it goes realy well with pancakes and maple syrup (WTF? why do they do that? sweet and savory like that is fucking horrible)
