Firefox's default settings minimize simultaneous connections to web
servers when downloading the pages for viewing. Since Mozilla is nice
enough to create this wonderful open source browser with changeable config
settings we should take advantage of the opportunity. I have a list of
settings you can modify to help speed up firefox. Start by opening firefox
and typing about:config in the address bar and hit enter. Change the
following strings to the following values (double clicking them toggles the
value):
Lastly, right click anywhere and select New Integar. Name it
nglayout.initialpaint.delay and set the value to 0. This value sets the
amount of time the browser will wait before acting upon the data it
receives from the server. Now just restart your browser for the changes to
take affect.

It's just a way to bombard more servers and add instability to them -
this thing has been VERY discouraged at the time it came out, and I
reverted my settings back to the original.
