“At present, we can only do primitive experiments on the
brain. For example, at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, it's
possible to put a
glass implant into the brain of a stroke victim, and the paralyzed
stroke
victim is able to, by looking at the cursor of a laptop, eventually
control
the motion of the cursor. It's very slow and tedious; it's like
learning to
ride a bicycle for the first time. But the brain grows into the glass bead,
which is placed into the brain. The glass bead is connected to a laptop
computer, and over many hours, the person is able to, by pure thought,
manipulate the cursor on the screen.”
what if we use this same principle to perhaps implant a brain with a much
larger chip maybe dozens at birth, and cut off all other senses, so
essentially just a paralyzed body supporting the brain,.
The brain would receive all its stimulation and input from the chips and
would have learn to interpret the meaning on its own; I’m sure with enough
stimulation the brain would adapt. The brain would hopefully learn to
output through the chips as well, so eventually the brain could interact
with reality via the computer, and hopefully the brain could use the
computer to enhance its own function and vice versa.
Crazy I know but I just wanted to share my insane idea…
I haven't been taking that much LSD lately, I swear!

Yeah and I am the one who is going to controll all the chips that are going
to be implanted into your brain(s)!
Woah, that makes it much easier to manipulated the masses and i don't
have to reproduce with all the hot asian girls*clicky*
i thought it said "emo" university. i had to reread it twice.
if you implant them at birth to create a "paralyzed body supporting
the brain" the person probably wouldn't survive w/o the proper
muscle stimulation and wouldn't develop very far
For a while now I've been trying to finish building my EEG (I began
collecting parts for one a few years ago), as I would very much like to
have a hardcopy of my head when lucid-dreaming... The last time I
investigated lucid dreaming I was kinda young, and it really only happened
by accident, a side-effect of the various meditation methods and
self-hypnosis I experimented with as a young teenager. As far as I have
seen (extremely little), no extensive EEG monitorings have undergone the
scientific method in regards to lucid dreaming.
