Let's set aside all the USA hating for a moment & wish the
World's largest Republic a Happy Birthday!
A huge THANK YOU for all those who have labored, sacrificed, & gave
their lives for the FREEDOMS we all enjoy in the United States of America.
The freedom to stand on a corner & shout 'FUCK THE
PRESIDENT!" The freedom to burn an American flag while wearing a
Nazi uniform. The freedom to worship, or not, any God, Deity, or
object (inanimate or not)! The freedom from the oppression of our
Government getting too far in to our pants.

The USA has many warts & it's elected
administration is currently not very popular in the World. Still, there is
no there place on Earth like the USA.
Hate us, love us. We
still have the precious luxury of personal freedoms & prosperity that
is the envy of many. Please
join Mrs. Ego & I in a toast to our Founding Fathers who had the
fortitude & vision to establish our Constitution & rally the
Republic's constituents to free themselves from oppression.
- 1) Probably not with the word "fuck" because it would
constitute disturbing the peace.
- 2) I think the second "freedom" was recently removed, though
you can still wear a Nazi uniform (can't do that in Germany).
- 3) Unless that requires buying a large amount of weapons, fucking minors
(polygamy groups), or preaching extremism. That goes for most nations
though.
- 4) For most stuff, but not, for instance, for property seizure laws if
the city deems your area would benefit more from a mall in its place.
Still, no secret police or stuff like that.
Still, at least right now, I'd rather not live anywhere else!
Valid observations. Those are some of the warts...
The
flag burning issue just passed the House. It has come up a few times
recently & always squashed when it hits the Senate. (Thank God!)
The property seizure thing is being tested on one of the
guys who got it passed. His mansion is being targeted for a hotel
that would generate more tax revenue than it currently does.
There's plenty of shit that goes here in The States. Tons of
it SUCK. (Pity me even more, I live in California!!) I'm
with you; hard to beat this place for all that is troublesome. Until
it gets too bad to bail, I'm doing what measly things I can to
help preserve & hopefully gain back the precious freedoms we have.
If Mexicans, Arabs, Africans, Europeans, Chinese, whoever, from
wherever want to come here and peacably make a life for
themselves, they are perfectly welcome to it. America doesn't
thrive on population stagnation.
