the basic gist of it is:
for the last almost ten years, the US mint has been releasing a quarter
commemorating each of the 50 states every 2 1/2 months.
they're like pokemon to me, and i've got to have them all,
so i have been saving my pocket change every day, sorting out the state
quarters, as well as the cool 2005 nickels:
to make a long story short,
after sorting my change, i've been depositing the remainder of the
change in various jars, bottles, and containers around the house
today, i rounded them all up, took them to the bank, and cashed them in.
the grand total was over $1,400. no shit.
it was about 80 pounds (about 35 kilos) of change
there are only two quarters left in the series to be released, and i plan
on moving starting the beginning of next month. i have lived in my current
abode my entire adult life and i have 15+ years of crap to go through...
time to lighten the load.
in other news, i've been working on the '48 Packard (straight
8)
it needs a head gasket
as far as head gaskets go, this thing is about as easy as it gets. i was
about half in the bag when i started removing the head
and five beers and an hour later, it was off.
anyone who has ever done this on a modern car can tell you it ain't no
1 hour job.

Are you going to cut the gasket yourself or are they still available off
the shelf? and good going on saving all that change, iv tryed doing that
myself and never manage to get anywere because i keep dipping it it so i
can go the pub when im to lazy to drive to a cash machine.
It's weird though, because despite some of these quarters having been
out 4 or more years, I still haven't seen some of them before.
"Wow, I've never seen this one before... what the fuck,
2002?!" but I guess they distribute them to the states that's
printed on them first and they slowly trickle out.
Another fun thing to do is to pay with only coin dollars instead of bills.
People just aren't used to them.
nah. i cracked them all by hand to avoid breaking the studs, and i had
to hand-crank about six of them by the firewall due to clearance
issues, but i zipped the rest of them.
