Since some people have been so nice as to tell us b0ggers what music they
hate, I figured it would be a decent journal entry to tell you what I like.
My tastes are eclectic and varied, but unless it's kiddie pop or new
country, I can be pretty open to suggestion.
Some of my current favorites:
Metric
They have a great mix of kick ass power chords, and a hot lead singer with
a great voice, but they don't forget to include melody.
'Melody' might be foreign to some of you, but look it up,
it's a neat little concept.
Broken Social
Scene
A Canadian
supergroup, they change members like I change parole officers. Still,
they produce a great sound. For a sample, I suggest 'cause =
time'.
Arctic Monkeys
I've just gotten into them, as they are new to the international
scene, but what I hear, I like.
Then there are the classics like Death From Above 1979, Rancid, The
Dead Boys, The Salads, New York Dolls, Violent Femmes, Elvis Costello,
Sepultura, Morbid Angel, Pantera, Metallica (early years only), Forgotten
Rebels, Dead Kennedys, Led Zeppelin, Ozzy, etc.
My other major love in music is Jungle, breakbeat and so on. I'm not a
huge fan of some of the newer stuff in Drum & Bass, as it's going
too much towards the ultra-repetitive Euro-Dance crap. I know I'd
probably get bounced in Bristol or Manchester for saying that, but I'm
not there, so bite me.

Im liking Jose Gonzalez' album, Veneer.
Includes the soundtrack to the new bouncy ball advert for Sony Bravia
TV.
Also, I have a few nice ambient CD's to listen to. El Divino and
Ministry Of Sound Chillout Sessions 6.
Funky house favours the more electronica flavour atm. Im liking a tune by
Pac Jam called "Urban Minds". Also a bit of Junior Jack.
Crazy P have come out with "Sun Science" fresh for the Winter
Music conference in Miami. Its a nice summer tune.
And last but not least, Bob Sinclar's follow up to Love Generation.
Its called "World, Hold On (Children of the Sky)". Pete Tong has
been backing it a bit and I like it too.
