So a few days ago, I went to the state fair cause it they were having their
usual unlimited ride day. Upon exiting a ride, I see a most incredible guy
with the most fantastic shirt! Actually, I nearly shit myself trying to
hide my laughter. I couldn't believe that someone actually thought
this was cool to wear... in public... or even in the privacy of their own
home. Can you see the hamburger meat hanging out the front of his shirt? He
was also wearing a fanny pack. My first thought was sharing this awesome
sight with my b0ggers.
Now after a couple of pics, I got caught, not that I give a firey fuck. Now
for the irony. A little later as I'm exiting another ride, I come
strolling across these same people and the chick is lying on the ground
convulsing. In really real life, I'm a Firefighter/EMT. And while I do
like to look at pics on here of people destroying themselves, in the real
world I help people. While legally I didn't have a "duty to
act" I wasn't going to let some fucking carnies watch as this
chick dies or something. So I but in, ask what's going on and the dude
only says that she's hot to the touch and just fell down. Heat stroke,
dumb fuck. So I yell at a carnie to call 911 and get some help. I get some
people to pull her fat ass into some shade and get her some water. In the
field, there's not much you can do other than get them to a hospital.
A minute later, some first responders come around and want to take over.
Now here in the states, someone with less training than yourself is not
allowed to take someone from your care. Only a paramedic, nurse, doctor,
etc.. can take them from me. So I say no but you can assist me. This gets
them in a huff and they call a managerial carnie. The managerial carnie
demands I let his people take over and I tell them to get bent. I explain
the abandonment issue and he won't relent. So I tell my gf to call the
cops if they touch me or remove my patient. I tell them that I'll have
them brought up on assault charges and interfering with the duties of an
EMT, both punishable by jail time. After that exchange, he shuts his
toothless mouth and they start listening to me. Long story short, we get
her to a building, I do my EMT shit and finally let her go into the care of
paramedics who showed up. So I had to help the very same people I was
making fun of, awesome! I'm gonna go macro make myself a similar shirt
now!

Thanks Trizzle. I love the job but don't think of myself as a
hero. There's things I love though, like giving Narcan to a meth
addict who od'd. It reverses all effects of any narcotic,
effectly destroying the high. A meth head would rather die high than
come down so fast. They get mad, try to fight and I get
"help" them to the hospital.
Wow, a paramedic firefighter!!!.... so, where are the goddamn ER and
Splattery pictures already I know you can take them without getting
busted....????
I love the shirt, if he had anything else approaching a normal look
I'd think he lost a bar bet. But, he thinks he's hawt.
I'm just an EMT, a step under paramedic. I never wanted to be a
paramedic though, alot more school. That and I didn't want to
have to learn two careers just to do one. Alot of guys do it though,
crazy.
And you would think I'd have good pics but I don't!
I've seen tons of gore but I'm usually in there getting my
hands dirty, no time to take pics. One of the coolest I've seen
was an old lady who took a header into the ground. Her glasses hit
first and the frames "scraped" all the skin off her
forehead. She was totally conscious and aware and we could see her
skull!
Haha, nice. I think by your location, I know what city you live in!
But we'll keep that on the dl.
No, he didn't say much. I know he saw me earlier when I took
his pic though. Guess he was smart enough not to question the guy who
was helping his manatee.. err, wife I mean.
I'm a first responder. I gave a girl CPR at a concert once after
she'd ingested too many drugs. Unfortunately, she didn't make
it. I'm glad your sitch worked out better.
Drug OD's are tough, there's not much even a paramedic can
do. Pumping the stomach at the hospital is about the only thing you
can do. Do you volunteer at a FD?
