It's been on the news here in Cyprus for the last 3 4 days. In fact
some people knew about it a long time ago since it happened on the 20th of
December.
I dont know if you've ever experienced police violence. I have but not
to the extent of being beaten up till im unconcious while im cuffed. In
football games mostly some abuse their power. It feels like a backstab, you
go to a policeman for protection and he's being everything but
protective.
The Story
Anyway, it turns out in late December, two guys in their late 20s were
walking on a main street, and got stopped by a police car. The policemen
were of the Mobile Unit. They have a past of being abusive motherfuckers.
They feel all leet and have a right to 'lay down the law'. So
anyway they stopped them and they were drunk. It was late night or early
morning if you prefer. They tied em up and then started hitting them while
the two guys were cuffed. Too bad for them some guy was talking a video of
the whole event.
The worst thing about it is that the Police is trying to cover things up,
just as it did many times in the past. The goverment is blaming the
previous government(now its leftwing-ish, used to be rightwing-ish), the
right wingers are blaming the current government, all of them are fucking
liers.
In the video you can see the police dudes repeatedly smashing one of the
guys' face on the sidewalk, pulling their hair, stomping, kicking,
punching em and so on.
That clip only shows a small portion of what happened, because the whole
event lasted at least two hours. After they were done, all the cops had a
meeting to decide what to say if this goes public. The cops even went to
the Hospital to take care of their injuries, because according to them the
two victims attacked them! The bruises from their legs are from the
insatiable beating rather. Cowards.
The Chronicles
A cop got pissed because some kids were throwing rocks (?) and he took his
gun and shot a 15y.o who was passing by. Needles to say the kid was
seiously injured. The cop didnt report this untill many hours, during which
he was destroying evidence (bullet shells etc). An investigation was
issued.
Verdict = Innocent
Last May another cop shot and killed a Syrian asylum seeker. Cause of death
(when the police report came out): Sudden and Unnatural death. The sergeant
is still serving in the force and the investigation is still going on.
Last year a cop raped and abused a female immigrant, and was later
announced as not guilty by the court.
Two macho cops barged in a house where two female immigrants were living
using their police suit ofc, and under gun threat raped them. They didnt
escape this time.. one of them got 10 (yes 10) months of no pay and the
other got no promotion for the following 2 years. That should do it..
Journalists doing their job in the cement factory of Basilikos got beaten,
arrested and abused. The government issued a commitee to investigate, but
you can guess what their verdict was.
When politicians and the head of police where asked about the event, they
were like "oh gosh you know I havent seen the video, I logged on to
the site but my screen wasn't working and..*bummer". They knew
about this for months now, but they failed to cover it up, because it
leaked to the press.
A few years ago, a Turkish drud dealer was abused, and he went to the
European Court of Human Rights. Tax payers had to pay for the stupidity of
our police, and the drug dealer even escaped the law. Gj fucktards.
And its not the minority. Most cops act like this. Or would if they were in
the same situation. And the worst thing is that the government is blaming
ghost and everyone is awed and shocked by this event, even though they knew
about it at least 3 months ago.
This is the first time im afraid of walking up to a cop for help.

Cops suck.
I have personally been physically abused (no ass rape jokes, thank you) by
them twice in my time and also had one once abuse the shit out'a my
beach cruiser.
My bicycle nor myself were deserving of that in all three cases.
I reiterate, cops suck.
i think statements like, "Most cops act like this. Or would if they
were in the same situation." miss the point. As a police officer if
you're put in a situation where there is chaos surrounding you and
someone comes toward you, you could either A. allow them enough time to
potentially attack you, or B. strike first.
maybe it's not the cool thing to respect authority, but where I live
we don't really have a problem with the police
There is a bigger difference between a strike and strikes than a
simple s. Striking first out of fear is somewhat understandable, a
human error. Now shooting a kid and not taking the responsibility,
"striking first" for two hours etc is way past the line of a
simple understandable mistake.
Luckily these 1 in a billion kind of cases cannot be used saying most
of the cops are evil, though they can be used saying 1 out of billion
is a whacko with mental issues and happened to land on an awfully
wrong line of work.
