Massive hardware failure!#@ (safe but boring read about misery)
Thursday - My iRiver mp3-player refuses to start.
Costs shitloads to repair or replace. I'm addicted to using it.
Saturday - Was editing a movie. Computer auto-restarted and refused to
load/repair/reinstall windows. Error:
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL.
Surfed the internets with old piece of crap PC trying to find an answer to
my problems. The causes for the error seemed endless.
Trial and error removal of all the hardware in my b0x. Seems like a stick
of 1024MB DDR caused it all. (or the slot on the MotherBoard). FUCK.
I have neither time nor money for this crap.
Now I have to move the puter for a 7th time in order to put some PCI-cards
back in. (sucks to have the puter in a room with no space for such
events)
And I'm all out of coffee.

I doubt that to be the case. Since the error occured at same
place even if the PC was cold or been running for a day. + I
have 2 extra fans running and no Overclocking.
Hey which iRiver model do you have? If it's one of the Hxx0 series
(H120, H140, H320, etc.) you can load the Rockbox firmware on it. Believe me, it
kicks the ass of anything iRiver has made (and subsequently abandoned,
which they always do). It has even saved me from my player freezing from
some strange file structure problems.
Speaking of which, try loading up the player on your computer (when you get
it working) and changing the directory structure. Sometimes that helps.
Be4 spend $, try some kinda utility, like the ones included in the Hiren's
boot CD, to test your hardware and identify the bad component. It can
help you to save money for drugs
