Built me an extra computer of about 5 other old ones.
Athlon 1800
512MB ram
Geforce 6800 with Zahlman fan replacement
SIS K7s5a Motherboard
Strange SB Live Taken from a DELL-PC. www.soundblaster.com had no drivers
for it but XPSP2 seems to include some generic sound drivers for it.
30GB HDD
NEC 16x DVD-burner
300W powersupply
Bought a new keyboard for 50SEK
Used an IDE-cable that previously was attached to a 100MB hdd (might be 10+
years old)
The HDD was a bitch since there was no diagram on jumper-settings to be
find for it anywhere on the internets.
NOTHING
FISH'N... is that some kind of inside joke???
OMG WATER!
Hose me down!
End of file

Thats funny, i built myself one out of spare parts with allmost exactly the
same hardware (i got an XP 2200 in mine tho, and i found some ram lying
around so i got just above 1k). Started out as my personal file host, but
now i use it for all sorts of shit.
I replaced the CPU cooler for a passive one, and the GPU cooler for a
silent zalman one too.
After spending like 1000,- DKK on silencing i found out tho that the
ol' "suspending your harddrive with rubber bands" method to
be way more effective tho.
I prefer to use 20 gauge wire actually, as rubber bands decompose and
strings are a pain to tie up. Also remember to use 120mm fans to move
a lot of air but reduce noise...
