the realmedia format is actually pretty good. it offers great filesize for quality, with a comparitivly reasonable amount of CPU usage. just ignore realplayer altogether. I haven't used Realplayer in a year at least. get RealAlt. no spyware and comes with the Media Player Classic which is an awesome player. quicktime movie files rock. you will, very simply, not find ANY workstation-level video compression algorithm/file that provides you with as good quality when all settings are on the highest level as .mov's can. .wmv's, as much as i hate to say it, do offer a pretty good filesize/quality ratio. it's just a pity they are ridiculously CPU-hungry, closed-source, and was made by microshaft. erm... yeah. you're right about .asf :) reply to this comment
