Voting changes

I've made some changes to the way voting works. Hopefully this will make it a lot easier with a lot less page refreshes.

It only works with the latest generation of browsers (with Javascript enabled) so if you're still using something like Netscape 4, you're shit out of luck.

If you are using a latest generation browser and you have some problems - please report here what they are (ie: it doesn't pop up the rating box) and include the browser you are using and its exact version number and its settings. Don't report problems if you have Javascript disabled.

For Opera: the ratings button sometimes places itself ontop of the article.
I mean that if you are on the bottom of the page, the ratings button will go to the top of the page.
It still works 100% but it might not be visible at first.
Wich means you fags should start using the fox.

When I scroll down on the page, the +/- popup appears on the wrong place (at the top) in Maxthon, which runs on the IE6 engine.

If so, turn off AdBlock and see what happens...

Why not the + and - button like before, but without the redirect stuff?

That's 1 click less, plus no positioning problems.

We also still need to manually refresh the page to see the ratings the users received. So not only is the entire purpose of the vote-system-recode defeated, it actually requires more work to do the exact same thing.

Doesn't work on IE, at least not for messages in this thread. Java turned off, javascript not turned off, default security settings. Why not implement something like http://www.urbandictionary.com 's rating system where you click an image to make the vote? Also where's the current rating of the message displayed?

I like seeing the ratings other people give without having to cast my own. Sure, it may bias my own voting, but it helps me locate the funny/clever posts quickly (yes, the majority is often right). On older posts it is especially useful.
